ABSTRACT
The AQA AS Philosophy syllabus has been described by one of the senior examiners as an ‘invitation’ to philosophy rather than an ‘introduction’ to philosophy.1
The emphasis is not primarily on learning philosophical theories but on engaging philosophically with a number of issues, the ten issues that make up the two units of the AS.
