ABSTRACT

Life. Georg Wilhelm Friedrich Hegel (1770-1831) the son of a civil servant initially studied theology at the Protestant seminary in Tübingen Germany. As a philosopher Hegel strove to develop a universal system. Although his works are abstruse they have had a great impact on later thinkers including Karl Marx. Privately Hegel led a middle-class Ye first as a family tutor then as a headmaster and finally as a professor in Berlin from 1818. His most important works include. The Phenomenology of Mind (1807),The Science of Logic (1812-16) and Outlines of the Philosophy of Right (1821).
