ABSTRACT
Life. Aristotle was born in 384 Bc in the Ionic city of Stageira on the coast of Macedonia. His father was a physician at the Macedonian court. It is possible that his father's profession played a part in awakening Aristotle's interest in biology. In any case, Aristotle's thought is in many ways influenced by biology, just as Plato's thought is influenced by mathematics.
