ABSTRACT

Three silences governed the discourse of Palestinian-Israeli relations in the pre-1993 period. They involved: 1) Zionism’s ideas and practices of transfer, 2) the territorial maximization inherent to Zionism, and 3) Zionism’s denial of Palestinian nationhood and right to self-determination. These analytics continued to govern the production of knowledge on PalestinianIsraeli relations through the period of the Oslo Process and the start of the second Palestinian intifada in September 2000. The truth of PalestinianIsraeli relations did not change with the start of the Oslo Process.
