ABSTRACT
Stimulants such as methylphenidate are prescribed to increase alertness and physical activity. The most widely used illegal stimulants are amphetamines, cocaine and crack. Ritalin (methylphenidate) and diethylproprion (Tenuate, Apisate) have a similar effect to amphetamine, but are less potent.
