ABSTRACT
Chekhov has given us what he calls the ‘five guiding principles’. These guiding principles should lead us through the process of acquiring and developing the technique. He tells us we have to train in order to have a general technique, and then we apply specific techniques to a role. The first five principles listed below will be the five guiding principles.
