By the end of this chapter, students will be able to:
Appreciate the scope of the concept of environment.
Define the concept of naturalness.
Understand how environmental changes can be considered as global in scope.
Understand global environmental change in relation to tourism with respect to:
change of land cover and land use,
climate change,
the exchange of biota over geographical barriers and the extinction of wild species, and
the exchange and dispersion of diseases.
