ABSTRACT
Professional practice demands that the nurse be competent and has mastery in the chosen field of nursing. This mastery should also hold a genuine passion and vision for nursing, coupled with an endeavour towards excellence and quality. If a qualified nurse fails to follow the Code (NMC, 2008), they may be reported to the NMC for an investigation into their ‘fitness to practice’.
