ABSTRACT

The function of the clausal conjunctive ~ἶ is twofold. First, it simply connects two different clauses, regardless of their sequence. It corresponds to “and” in English. Consider the following examples:

“Jennifer cleans up, and Matthew cooks.” “Matthew cooks, and Jennifer cleans up.”
