ABSTRACT
Twelve math and social studies teachers representing grades 4-8 met for the fourth session of a two-year professional learning sequence. Their district had committed funds for staff development to increase student learning by building teacher leadership in content area literacy. This goal involved building a common language across grade levels from elementary through middle school.
