ABSTRACT

You enter the room unnoticed. Everyone looks busy. No one looks up from their computer. When people do see you, it’s as if they are looking right through you or have identied you as a stranger. Televisions hang from the ceiling, blaring various events and commercials, but no one is watching them. Phones ring intermittently, and life in the newsroom continues. Your desk, looking every bit its age, lies in the corner, next to two unfriendly looking older people. This is where you wanted to work? What were you thinking? How will you survive? Do you want to?
