ABSTRACT

Among the psychological reports that I encounter in my clinical work, the ones that are most individualized are about children. This chapter draws examples from a wide range of ages (5 to 16 years) and settings (home, clinic, camp, detention center, school). The fact that there are many more reports on male than on female youngsters reflects the actual distribution of referrals in most agencies serving children and adolescents. There is a greater diversity of report-writing styles in this chapter than in the others. Somehow, trying to do justice to children inspires creativity.
