ABSTRACT
It is a little unfortunate that this chapter comes so late on in this book as it could give the impression that sustainability is something only to be considered in the latter stages of building a network. In this chapter we try to counter this perception as we argue that the issue of sustainability needs to be both part of the initial strategic planning of any network and its on-going evaluation.
