ABSTRACT

In the previous chapter we set out the major issues that need to be considered when designing a network. Now we move on to providing advice and insights into how to get things started in the early phases of establishing a network. This chapter sets out to answer questions such as:

• How do you go about developing a focus? • How do you mobilise people at different layers of the network so that they

work together collaboratively? • What does it take to get people to identify with and feel they own the

network they are part of? • If trust is so important, how do you develop it?
