ABSTRACT

HUMAN SEXUALITY, the gratification of carnal desire and/or theprocess by which the species is reproduced, is dynamic, elaborate, mostly pleasurable, and potentially very dangerous. It is dynamic because it appears to drive a considerable amount of human performance, and operates on many levels (including death: Bataille, 1986). Sex for humans is not just about making babies. It can bring potent psychological satisfaction and pungent physical release – if indulged in willingly, without abuse, and with some degree of skill. Sex, however, is also risky.
