Methodology and case study

The social economy is not only generative of employment, but also reflective of a larger transition from Employment to Work. As discussed in Chapter 2, the paradigm shift to Work reflects the lived reality of the contemporary global political economy.1 The transition to Work, however, is not a voluntary liberal bourgeois sentiment. Individuals are compelled to engage differentially in the post-Employment era in order to address the crisis of social reproduction.2
