ABSTRACT

This study has developed a CGE model of Pakistan with regional dimensions (labelled as PAKREG) and constructed a highly disaggregated database supporting this model. The model has been used to examine the possible short-run and long-run effects of trade liberalization on the economy at the national and regional levels. This fi nal chapter contains a summary of the main fi ndings, recommends appropriate policy responses, distils lessons for other countries, identifi es important limitations of the study and suggests avenues for future research.
