ABSTRACT

We noted in Chapter 5 that children love to learn and, if sufficiently enthused, demonstrate an intense desire to find out more by any available means. In such cases, poor behaviour is not normally an issue. Learning is normally organised into sessions (periods of time that divide up the day) and lessons (timetabled sessions by subject or cross-curricular themes). However, it is possible to be so intent on reaching the end product of task completion that we neglect the process of learning through which pupils pass and thereby increase the risk of boredom and restless behaviour.
