ABSTRACT

Lois is known for her big heart. She is a generous person, eager toshare her possessions with anyone in need. Throughout her sixty years, Lois’ neighbors could count on her for tablecloths, wrapping paper, or screws and bolts of any shape and size. Her grandchildren have plenty of scrap paper to draw on. And every time they visit, it seems that there is another little porcelain figurine to discover. All the surfaces in Lois’ home are covered with things other people might need someday. A true “people person,” she saves every gift anyone has ever given her. That explains the exotic vinegars, herb pots, and multiple salt and pepper shakers that crowd her kitchen counters. Totes, handbags, luggage, plastic rain caps, tiny sewing kits, and all sorts of travel supplies cram her closets, though Lois herself only travels once or twice a year. “You just never know when someone might need these things,” Lois explains.
