ABSTRACT

Martha, like Edgar in Chapter 8, is an OosOom, a person for whom out of sight is out of mind; however, Martha’s biggest struggle is related to her paperwork. Unless Martha has her papers right out in front of her she forgets where they are and what needs to be done with them. Martha fears, and rightfully so, that if the papers on her desk were to disappear (that is, be filed) she would not remember to deal with them. Bills would go unpaid. Projects in progress would be neglected. The visual reminders to take action would be wiped out, and instead Martha would have to depend on her memory. Furthermore, Martha fears that if her papers were filed, she’d never remember where to find them.
