ABSTRACT

It is important to remember that theory must be implemented with caution. Implementing programs based on inadequate knowledge or understanding oftheory isa open invitation to failure. Becauseof the complexities of the theories discussed here, one could do more harm than good to students and to the institution if programs are created that are grounded in inaccurate or overly simplistic understanding of theory. Interns are advised to review their knowledge of theories or to gain additional knowledge prior to implementing programs. InAppendix a list of resources by family of theory is available to assist in this process.
