ABSTRACT
This chapter considers further aspects of the 2000 BBC Reith Lectures “Respect for the Earth” as a sort of stocktaking exercise also using computer-generated concordances and frequency counts. How much has ecological and environmental awareness developed in the past thirty years? The Reith Lectures can serve as a kind of index of ecological progress or regression. Areas worth investigating from a critical discourse perspective (Fairclough 1989) can be assisted by the computer.
