ABSTRACT
In the late afternoon of 1 September 1992, Ahmed Qattamish was reading a
story to his two-year-old daughter Hanyn. As Hanyn was falling asleep, Ahmed heard a loud knock on the front door of the apartment and hurried
to see who the visitor was. As he opened the door, sixteen armed soldiers
burst into the apartment, two of them pointing their guns at his chest.
