Bonds are issued in a wide variety of forms. However, most government bonds conform to a conventional format. The conventional government bond (gilt in the UK):
1. pays a fixed coupon per period (usually 6 months); 2. has a definite redemption date; 3. has a market price expressed as a sum per £100 of nominal value.
