ABSTRACT

You probably have not been able to tell your abuser how you feel about what he did to you. Releasing some of your feelings toward him can be a very therapeutic experience. Set aside at least an hour for this exercise (or more if you think you need it). In the space below (and on as many more sheets of paper as you need) write a letter to your abuser. You will not send this letter to your abuser, so feel free to write everything you have ever wanted to say to him. Take your time. There is no right or wrong way to do it. The outline below offers some suggestions for thoughts you might want to include in your letter. Feel free to use it as a guideline or write the letter in your own words if that feels more comfortable.
