If the verb in the question is negative (which is quite rare), nach (nár in the past of regular verbs) is used:
Cé nach raibh anseo? Who was not here? Cad nár cheannaigh sé? What did he not buy?
Identities are questioned as follows:
Cé hiad sin? Who are they? Céard é sin? What’s that?
