ABSTRACT
The Jews faced major obstacles from organizations representing over 3 billion people, including Catholics, mainline Protestants and Muslims, who opposed the state of Israel for decades. Overcoming significant religious opposition was a major hurdle, as was the opposition of the United Nations and Third World through much of this period.
