ABSTRACT

The last chapter looked at alternative ways of meeting the core functions of the SEN Code of Practice, ways that rely primarily on the application of systems meant for all children, rather than separate systems for a few. These alternatives are closely linked to developments in the education system that come under the banner of ‘personalisation’ or ‘personalised learning’. In this chapter we will draw out the links between new SEN systems and personalisation, and consider the role of the SENCO/INCO in supporting personalisation in their school.
