ABSTRACT

As the re¯ection of feeling links the experience of several family members the interactive process emerges as the questioning continues. The therapist adds to the re¯ection of feeling by then re¯ecting back short sequences of interaction that may have occurred in the session or, more likely, would have been reported on by family members. In this manner the therapist is therefore focusing on emotional reactions and behavioural interactions. An example best illustrates the process of re¯ection of interaction.
