ABSTRACT
In the last chapter I provided a sketch of the theoretical foundations for my substantive account of human rights. However, do the discourse and practice of human rights have any right themselves to exist? This chapter investigates one response to the burning question of our present conjuncture: are politics possible? And a subsidiary question: are ‘human rights’ a resource only for stasis and reaction?
