ABSTRACT
We do not traditionally consider international law as a separate and distinct source of law. However, this is a myopic view, which can now be legitimately challenged. It is becoming increasingly clear that, in modern times, the body of rules and principles which constitute international law exerts a great influence on municipal legal systems. It is a dynamic, norm-building legal source. The influence of international law may be seen as a direct source of law within the municipal or domestic system, or as an indirect source of law. In both instances, it is an important legal source.
