ABSTRACT
Unlike intensive rooftop gardens, extensive green roofs are not designed for public access but are developed mainly for aesthetic and ecological benefits with relatively low initial cost, lightweight and thin growing media and minimal maintenance. In Singapore, more and more extensive rooftop gardens have been installed on the existing buildings in order to achieve aesthetic and environmental benefits.
