The annual budget may well contain a lot of numbers but it is also a key tool in managing the resources available to your school. The annual budget serves a number of purposes:
■ it shows how resources are to be allocated during the year to achieve your school’s objectives;
■ it provides a basis for monitoring and controlling spending;
■ it demonstrates that the school’s plans for the year are affordable.
