When dealing with small plans, it is unusual to become involved with internal finishes or layouts and I deal with them in one composite description. Refer to standard specification clause 33 in Appendix B. As indicated in previous chapters where upper floors require sound insu-
lation, the plasterboard ceiling has to have a mass of 10 kg/m2. One way of complying is to line the ceiling with Gyproc Wallboard 10 (or similar) which is designed to comply with the regulations. In other locations, ceilings with joists up to 450mm centres – use 9.5mm
plasterboard. With roof trusses at 600mm centres – specify 12.5mm plasterboard.
