ABSTRACT

This chapter focuses on the development of research into the link between organisational culture and effectiveness, and examines the different periods in the history of this thematic development. The chapter looks in depth at the Denison Organisational Culture Survey which was chosen to support the research study among construction companies in Hong Kong, the methodology and results of which are described later in the book. The chapter ends with a view of the relatively few studies into culture so far carried out specifically in the construction industry.
