ABSTRACT
The beef tapeworm, Taneia saginata, has cattle as the intermediate host
and humans as the final host. Cattle are infected by grazing on pasture
recently spread with infected sewage or drinking infected water.
Human infection is from ingesting the larval stage through raw or
poorly cooked beef. Control of tapeworm is primarily through high
standards of meat inspection.
