ABSTRACT
In the United States, the 1990s were designated ‘The Decade of the Brain’ by an Act of Congress. This initiative led to a proliferation of neuroscientific (brain) research studies, and consequently a number of important discoveries have been made in recent years about the anatomy, function and circuitry of the brain.
