ABSTRACT
The History of the 20th Century introduces each decade, as well as each of its chapters, with the animated graphic of a camera, its lens enhanced by light refl ections styled after sunrays. The camera then zooms to the foreground, bringing its lens face to face with the spectator, letting his eyes meet the mechanical eye. An animated hand adjusts the focus, which zooms out again to reveal the fi rst historic picture, most often a still photograph chosen to represent the topics that follow.
