ABSTRACT

As we reach the Results stage of SOAR this may be paralleled by students moving into their final year, when they will be under increasing pressure to apply the results of their learning from previous years, to get better grades, and also to demonstrate the results of their broader skills-development directly to recruiters. Job applicants are likely to face competitive selection procedures. In principle students should be better prepared for life beyond HE as you will have facilitated them gradually through the SOAR process. All that remains then is to pull these threads together and finally prepare them to move from the stage that is passing to the stage that is emerging – or rather can emerge if they make the right moves. This is particularly important for those who aspire to enter graduate-level employment straight after HE, but the skills developed through this chapter are (as ever) useful in all areas of life.
