ABSTRACT
Antaeus, designed by Tribolo and later executed by others, as will be related in the proper place. He intended that from the mouth of Antaeus, instead of his spirit, there should gush out quantities of piped water, as indeed it does. The water is that of the large conduit at Petraia, which fl ows with much force and rises sixteen braccia above the level with the steps, making a wonderful effect as it falls back into the large tazza.” G.
