ABSTRACT
The ocean waters—both the continental margins and the deep ocean basins—contain unknown quantities of mineral deposits, most of which are the result of geological processes that require at least thousands and sometimes even millions of years to complete. Hence, they can be classified as non-renewable natural resources.
