ABSTRACT
This chapter is the first component of Part III of this book, on statistical analysis. It builds on the work of Chapter 4, which has essentially been ‘exploratory data analysis’. In developing that material, no formal statistical analysis, using inferential tools, was used. Rather, the emphasis was on the ‘shape’ of the data, and what this implied for a variety of analytical frameworks, including principal-agent analysis of investor-investee relations.
