ABSTRACT

Using various forms of movement this session will address the issues of the body and attempt to tell the story of grief and loss through the body. Whether it is through dance, yoga postures, gentle breath exercises, or just physical movements, the activity will allow the group members the opportunity to move out of their heads and into their bodies. At a minimum this session of physical movement will facilitate deep relaxation, concentration, and mental recovery. Specific exercises and physical movements will be offered, or the facilitator can use a different form of movement, such as

yoga or dance, with which they are experienced. At the end of the session a guided meditation or visualization is offered to deepen the experience of letting the body tell its own story.
