ABSTRACT
What shall I do to be saved from the political oppression that is common to the Negro everywhere, from economic depression so universally arranged against the Negroes? What shall I do to be saved from inhuman treatment that is committed on the Negroes in every country; from humiliation that Negroes are so apt to encounter anywhere regardless of their character and ability? What shall I do to be saved from the false propaganda that makes the Negro think he is inferior to all other men? What shall I do to save the manhood and womanhood of this race, to make men self-respecting, to make women more dignified and honest, and to save the youths of our race? I have resolved to support and defend the principle of this organization, and adhere to its founder, His Excellency, Hon. Marcus Garvey.
