Arthur Tappan (May 22, 1786-July 23, 1865), Christian reformer and abolitionist, was the leading supporter of American evangelical publishing and reform organizations in the 1820s and 1830s. Though not a publisher himself, his nancial contributions to organizational publishing were unparalleled.
