“As an illustrator, I relish occasions to illustrate African American Children in a positive light and in settings that expand their imaginations. Much of the literature written in the fantasy and fairytale genre lacks the presence of Black children. I feel minority kids need to see themselves in these unusual and fanciful settings and I love to produce work that does this in a way that sparks in a child creativity and wonder.”
