ABSTRACT

A native of Plainfield, New Jersey, Christie is the youngest of three children. He showed an interest in the arts at an early age and began to paint at the age of thirteen. Honing his skills at the School of Visual Arts in New York City, he simultaneously began working at the Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum. Upon graduating in May, 1989 with a bachelor of fine arts degree, Christie traveled to Europe to discover other styles of art and cultures. This exposure led him to develop a new direction in his illustration, illustration with a fine-art edge.
