“The greatest influences in my life have come from traditional stories told by my mother and my grandmother. As children, we loved to listen to these stories. Stories are much more than just entertainment. I have always asserted that storytelling is a true way of learning. They give us encouragement and good morals. They teach us life skills, and educate us about our environment and the relationship between Man and Nature. They are basic to education in Africa.

“As one proverb says, ‘Words must go from old mouths to new ears.’ Storytelling is a gift to me from my elders and I simply want to pass this gift on to all children.”
