ABSTRACT
Evans received a bachelor’s degree in piano performance and psychology from Tougaloo College, Tougaloos, Mississippi, and a master’s degree in Creative Arts Therapy with an emphasis in Music from Hahnemann University, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. While at Tougaloo, she participated in a West African study-travel that enabled her to study the traditional music of Ghana. She returned to the continent twice as a Teacher Abroad Fulbright Scholar-to Zimbabwe in 1995 and to South Africa in 2000. Tours in several European countries and participation in the Japan Fulbright Memorial Teacher Fund Program are also included among her international experiences.
