ABSTRACT
Guirma was born in Ouagadougou, Upper Volta, in West Africa. He claims Naba Koumdoum “ue,” the eighth emperor of the Mois people in the fourteenth century, as one of his ancestors. Guirma attended an elementary school taught by the Sisters of Our Lady of Africa and later the Seminary of Padre. He received his bachelor’s degree in France and a master’s degree from Loyola University in Los Angeles, California.
